Why does a perfume's scent change over time?

   The scent of perfume changes over time after application, a natural phenomenon that can be explained by the interaction of the three layers found in every perfume bottle: Top Notes, Middle Notes, and Base Notes. Each layer has its own characteristics and evaporation rate, and the changes occur due to the different evaporation behaviors of the molecules in each layer.

The reason perfume scent changes over time is that the molecules in each note vary in size and evaporate at different rates

o Top Notes contain small and light molecules that evaporate quickly from the skin, causing their scent to fade shortly after application.
